Could our everyday experiences of nature help build stronger connections with the places around us?
A funded PhD opportunity at The University of Manchester will explore just that.
‘Sensing Nature: Designing and Evaluating Interventions that Enhance Environmental Empathy and Nature Connectedness (SEEEN)’ will look at how creative and digital approaches, from storytelling and environmental interpretation to immersive experiences, can strengthen nature connectedness and environmental empathy.
Working with local partners and communities across Greater Manchester, the researcher will co-design and test new approaches, including contributing to a digital twin of selected CyanLines locations to explore different designs and future environmental scenarios.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about the relationship between people, place and nature to contribute to research with real-world impact here in Greater Manchester.
